12 hour dial instead of 24 hour dial. Would probably mean fewer calendars could be seen, however, and might only work on the single day view. See attached mockup. Image on the left is what it would look like before noon, image on the right after noon.

Looks like this has been two years. Any updates on this feature?

Because this is a major change on the technical end, before we attempt it we've wanted to make to make absolutely dead sure about two things: 1. That enough users want it(seems like many do) and 2. That the implementation we've designed (in the attachment) is a form that people would want it in. (If you imagine the 12h clock in Month view, we need to somehow keep all that info in one circle per day, and that means you'd lose calendar groups in rings. Which may be an acceptable compromise but again, it complicates things a bit.) There's been a ton to optimize on the functionality side of things with Apple's new iOS updates, but that seems to finally be getting under control, so after that we want to gather more systematic feedback and then see what we do. Thank you for your patience and for taking the time to let us know you continue to be interested in this.
Could do the choice to have AM in inner circle and PM in an outer circle for people who want that option. The 24h in 1 circle is throwing me off as I keep looking at it as if it were a clock.

Would you want that throughout the app, in every view?
Could this idea be developed to customisable time periods.
1) Set periods as favourites (eg. for work day / leisure time);
2) Ad hoc periods selected by dragging on calendar
3) Zoom feature per calendar item for a countdown visualisation.

Do you mean one ring for customisable time periods and the other ring for your events? Or do you mean a separate ring view per event, like a circular countdown? It would help to hear more about the particular problem you are looking to solve. :)
Please keep the 24 hour clock as an option

Oh absolutely!! PiCal is primarily a 24h dial app, because that makes so many other functions possible. Some people have told us they just can’t get their heads around it though so we thought we might offer 12h as an OPTION :D
I think 12 hours just might be a bit too small? What if there was like a 16 hour clock and users could set their wake up and sleep times?
